Timpir currently employs 7 teachers at Wäramoth Primary School. As the student numbers at the school increase, so does the demand for teachers, and as such it is hoped that we will continue to be able to employ additional teachers. Timpir is only able to employ these teachers through the generous support of individuals and organisations who sponsor the teachers.

To continue employing these teachers and be able to add to the numbers of teachers that Timpir employs, we need ongoing support of donors. The teacher sponsorship program assists us to pay the salaries of the Wäramoth Primary School teachers.

What are the costs?

  • $150 per month or $1800 per year for teacher sponsorship

What does the program include?

  • 1 letter per year from the teacher (however there is no postage system in South Sudan, so the delivery of letters will be dependent on people that are travelling from South Sudan to Kenya carrying letters for us).
  • A photo of the teacher every two years.
  • A progress report of the teacher and school every year.
  • Sponsors are encouraged to develop a friendship with their teacher through regular letters.

What does sponsorship provide?

Sponsorship provides a teacher with:

  • A salary
  • Teaching resources
  • Basic teacher training
